I had the honor of photographing Dr. Anousheh Ansari and the charity luncheon that was organised by Women on a Mission Singapore to raise funds for UN Women’s effort to end human trafficking in Asia.
Held here in Singapore at restaurant Me@OUE with spectacular views of Marina Bay Sands, we had the opportunity to listen to a very interesting talk from key-note speaker Dr. Anousheh Ansari, the first self-funded female in history to fly into space. She is also the first astronaut of Iranian descent, the first Muslim woman, and fourth private explorer to visit space. As a successful serial entrepreneur and active proponent of world-changing technologies, she along with her family provided the title sponsorship for the $10 million Ansari X Prize, an award for innovative space entrepreneurs. During this special lunch affair, in support of the Singapore Committee for UN Women’s efforts to end human trafficking in Singapore and in the Asia region, Dr Ansari shared her awe-inspiring journey from daughter of war-torn Iran to space pioneer. Her very human story is a testament to the power of conviction and to the understanding that through indomitable commitment and unwavering focus, even the unimaginable is possible.

Thank You to Women on a Mission Singapore for inviting me to photograph this event.
